MEMBERSHIP DUES NOW DUE Membership dues for the 2000-2001 fiscal year is due by June 30, 2000. Please take the time to visit the website at LAMPPAC.org to download the membership application for renewal. We are asking all members to contact one agency and invite them to the meetings. Explain the benefits of LAMPPAC ask them to consider joining the organization. With 30 current member agencies, we could surpass 50 if each member brought in one new agency. |
ELECTION OF OFFICERS The current term of office for our Board Members is expiring June 30, 2000. We will be holding election for new officers at the June meeting. If you are willing to extend your hand and help the organization or have a member who you wish to nominate for a position, please send names to Christine Roberto, City of Downey so we may create a ballot. Remember, the only way that this organization thrives is with the help and support of our volunteers. |
NO JULY MEETING! Since all of us know how busy a time the beginning of the fiscal year can be, we will not be holding a July meeting. We will resume our meetings on August 2, 2000. |

DemandStar.com
This firm provided a demo at the April meeting and there was a discussion regarding advertising formal bids exclusively through them. In a subsequent phone conversation, they were willing to remove the exclusivity requirement, however, wanted member agencies to place a statement on formal bids not on their network that the bid was not being advertised on the DemandStar site. This amounts to free advertising for the company and poses some sticky questions. We will continue to search for other bid advertisement sites and have scheduled ecitydeals.com for the August meeting. |
NEXTEL TO PRESENT AT JUNE MEETING Marc Monforte provided copies of contracts currently available. The LA County contract is good when the monthly usage is unknown. It offers a low monthly fee and a per minute charge. The El Monte USD plan is best used when the monthly usage is consistent, then these bucket plans are more cost effective. We have asked Nextel to present their plans at the June meeting. In addition, they will provide a list of their customer service representatives from accounting, programming, sales, etc. |
ORANGE COUNTY CONTRACTS AVAILABLE Tony Bernard provided several master contracts that are piggybackable. Medical/lab bottled & welding gases, copier paper, audio & videotapes, insect & pest control services, and computer related supplies. Any interested parties contact Tony for more details at 714-834-7158 or abernard@ceoit.co.orange.ca.us |
WATER METERS Jan Steese will be providing a comparison between the current LAMPPAC contract (Arcadia lead agency) with Schlumberger and the City of Long Beachs contract. Once that is completed, we will either piggyback or send out another bid. Please be prepared to give Jan your bid requirements. |
