EOC INFORMATION SOUGHT

Approximately three years ago, LAMPPAC discussed emergency vendor and EOC information. Bill Niedfelt was kind enough to share a list of vendors who can supply emergency supplies. Each city has a list of their local vendors, but we need to remember in the event of a widespread emergency, we may have to contact vendors quite a distance away.

LAMPPAC also decided that it would be a good idea if we have emergency/after hours contact information from other cities that would share their resources if available. Please bring emergency contact information to the December meeting so we can create a list for the group.

INFO SHARED, INFO NEEDED

We had good turnout at our November meeting. The meeting consisted of an open forum/roundtable discussion on a multitude of interesting topics, some of which are highlighted below:

Janna Kliebert, City of Lakewood discovered a useful web site called "Public Works Online," http://www.pwmag.com/buyers_guide/roadside.htm which lists items for sale, etc.

Kristy Shadle, City of Burbank introduced Buyer Lisa Villejas. We hope to see more of Lisa at future meetings.

J. Richard Hogate, City of El Segundo is working on getting someone from California OverNight to speak at a future meeting. They provide services similar to FedEx at prices 60% less for deliveries to California, Arizona and Nevada.

Cynthia Duprey, City of South Gate is looking for sample RFP's related to putting on carnivals which may include rides, games, food etc. Please contact Cynthia at 323/ 563-5781 if you have any information which may help.

Bill Niedfelt, City of Fullerton announced that Demand Star has a new Quote product.

Gwen Eng-Ellis, City of Manhattan Beach is looking for local vendors who supply audio/video systems, which include wiring and installation. Gwen can be reached at 310/ 802-5567.

Margarita Lee, City of Culver City is looking for a hot deal on L N Curtis Panther model breathing apparatus for her Fire Dept. She received several recommendations from those in attendance, but is always open to more suggestions.

The current bid for water meters has been extended. Anyone needing information can contact Jan Steese, City of Arcadia.

We would like to thank Gwen Eng Ellis for chairing our October meeting while Margarita Lee was off fraternizing with the French. Thank you Gwen; we appreciate your dedication to this organization.
