NIGP TASTE OF NATIONAL COMING! NIGP will be hosting "A Taste of National" forum. This is a great opportunity to see what the national forum is like each year. See and hear presentations by recognized leaders in Public Purchasing, Purchasing Law, Motivation, Economics, and the Model Procurement Code. Topics will include Leadership, Total Cost Analysis, Warehousing and Inventory Control, Contract Strategies, NACO/USCM, B2G Commerce, and more. This, and more, happens on March 14 - 15, 2001, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, at The Centre at Sycamore Plaza, 5000 Clark Avenue, Lakewood, California. $159.00 for Chapter Members (00/01) $199.00 for Non-Members One day registration $99.00. TREASURER'S STATUS Our treasurer reports that LAMPPAC has $1,779.21 in Savings and $937.75 in Checking. Also, delinquent registration reminders have been mailed to agencies which have not renewed for the 2000/2001 fiscal year. Thanks to Beverly Crisp for handling the mailing. |

SHARED, NEEDED Tammi Weldon, City of Norwalk, would like to consolidate the Nextel phones of various city departments into one contract. If you have dealt with this situation and can offer any tips or recommendations, please give her a call. Jan Steese, City of Arcadia, would like information regarding the prequalification of vendors for duct cleaning work. Tim Shay is has been promoted and is now the Support Services Supervisor for Monterey Park. CONGRATULATIONS TIM !!! Beverly Crisp, City of Buena Park, is looking at installing Defibrillators in Police cars and vendors who provide Mobile Offices and Capital Asset Inventories. Cynthia Duprey, City of South Gate, would like copies of good janitorial RFP's, Document Imaging Systems and Council Chambers Projection Systems. She is also looking for vendors who could provide a telephone extension activated "buzz-in" system for their Police Dept., similar to what apartment buildings use to allow guest entry. Gwen Eng-Ellis, City of Manhattan Beach, reports that Standard Fusee Company has dropped their minimum order requirement for flares which should allow for some savings. She will also be testing an on-line police auction site and report back to LAMPPAC on how it worked. The City of Los Angeles is conducting a bid for street lighting poles and arms. If you are interested in inspecting the material, please contact Stefan Mahaley (323) 913-4739 for an appt. Inspections will be held until 2/23/01. All bids are due by Thursday, March 1, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Pat Cole, Los Angeles Housing Authority is requesting copies of contract that went out to formal bid for the following items: Fleet Maintenance (Auto Body Repair), Shredding, Elevator Maint. and Repair, Grounds Keeping, Hardwood Flooring and Refinishing, 300 Gallon Trash Cans and Laundry Room Service. Please contact Pat if you can provide any of these bids. We are in the process of updating membership directory information for the website. If you have any changes which need to be changed, please contact Margarita Lee, City of Culver City or Christine Roberto, City of Downey. LAMPPAC will be renewing memberships for the new fiscal year.
