MEMBERSHIP DUES
BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTIONS
AUGUST MEETING INFORMATION NEEDED

The June meeting was a busy one. Members were reminded that their annual dues payment for LAMPPAC was to be turned in by June 30th. Some memberships are still outstanding so please check your records for payment. Reminder notices will be mailed out by the end of July for those not yet renewed.

Board of Director elections were also held. The terms are for two years. Gwen Eng was elected as Vice Chair from previously held Director position. Margarita Lee, Chris Klein and Christine Roberto were re-elected to their current positions of Chair, Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

The current fiscal year brings with it new capital outlay items. We are requesting that each member bring a listing of all approved capital outlay items for their agency so we can determine if there are items that can be bid jointly. Many cities buy substantially the same items and this is a great opportunity to see we can combine.

NEXTEL PRESENTATION

Bill Springer, the Government Account Sales Manager for Nextel brought us information on Nextel products, services and available contracts for piggybacking. Members were introduced to several Nextel employees who are designated as "Government" account execs, sales reps, etc.

Nextel has several features that other cellular companies do not. They are fully cellular and radio, as well as being able to handle paging, PDA and laptop capabilities with one device.

If you would like further information, please contact Christine Roberto, City of Norwalk to get your current Sales Rep name and phone number.

ITEMS NEEDED, SOUGHT OR SHARED

Bill Gellman, City of Brea is looking for a procedure that allows employees to borrow computers to take home from the agency. They are having issues with their insurance company not wanting to pay out claims for lost, stolen, damaged computers as there is no written policy to cover this process.

If your agency has a policy, please contact Bill. If any agencies have a reputable vendor that can draw up layouts for furniture placement, please contact Bill Niedfelt.

The City of Fullerton is building a new wing onto their Police Dept. and would like to have a "third party" vendor to draw up the plans rather than a vendor that will be bidding the actual furniture.

Fullerton is also looking for vendors that may be interested in purchasing used radio equipment.
