Board of Directors Elections

The attending membership nominated and voted for the four existing Directors positions. All the existing positions remain the same with the exception of Secretary. Christine Roberto, who has given us 10 years of service, decided to step down to attend to other obligations and her position will be filled by Michael Hunter of the City of Lakewood.

The Directors positions carry a two-year obligation and the positions are set from 7-1-04 until 6-30-06. I'm sure I speak for all in thanking Christine for her many years of service and hard work.

Membership Renewals

The 04/05 membership renewals have been mailed. Many renewals have been received, but not all. Please double check with your Accounts Payable Department to be sure they have received the renewal and are processing it.

Arch Wireless Contract

Last months newsletter contained the basic information of the Arch Wireless Contract on which Gwen Eng of Manhattan Beach did the brunt of the work. Any additional questions are best directed to her. E-mail at geng@citymb.info .

News Needed and Shared

Beverly Carr, City of Inglewood, has her city stating a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) program. Any agencies have a program in place?

Tracy Hamilton from the City of Irvine provided the following web site address for Caltrans that lists DBE firms. CUCP Database (Certified DBE's) http://shqucp.dot.ca.gov:7781/ucpquery/index2.jsp

J. Richard Hogate has a RFP for banking services. There seems to be a garment vendor who wants to make sure that anyone purchasing garments is doing so from a licensed garment manufacturer. They are to possess a valid California garment license. This can be checked on the states website at: http://www.dir.ca.gov/databases/dlselr/garmreg.html

Tracy Hamilton, City of Irvine, is looking for a good banner supplier.
