NEWS NEEDED AND SHARED

It is obvious that it is "budget season" as this was a lightly attended meeting this month.

Nancy Pickard-City of Fullerton
She has a new Water Superintendent, has been around for a while and worked for several other cities. He came from El Segundo. Seems he is going to be easy to work with.

Felice Fromm-City of Torrance
The city has had an engineer leave and go to work for the City of El Segundo. The City has also moved her purchasing office and now has the entire Finance Department on one floor.

Paul Herman-City of Burbank
His interest right now is in the area of fuel. It appears that the Cities of Pasadena, Glendale and Burbank are trying to do a co-op bid for fuel.
Paul also mentioned that the City of Glendale recycles their e-waste.

Cynthia Duprey-City of South Gate
The city just finished a proposal for auction services. Contact Cynthia for results of the bid.

Matthew Weintraub-City of El Monte
Matthew informed us of a law enforcement vendor show in Azusa. He also mentioned another upcoming show in the San Bernardino/Riverside area at the end of this month.
He has now taken advantage of the desk top delivery offered by the various office supply vendors and is very happy with the results so far.

Next month he may be bringing a new person to the meeting as his City is looking at hiring someone into the purchasing department.
Lastly he thanked all in Lamppac for their assistance. He said everyone has been very helpful to him and wanted to express his appreciation.

J. Richard Hogate-City of El Segundo
The city has a new purchasing code in place. His City Manager leaves in July.
Due to the growth we have experienced in our LAMPPAC membership, we are considering a style of letterhead that would incorporate the names of all the cities and agencies involved as members. Richard has been kind enough to take the lead with this project.

Mike Hunter-City of Lakewood
The city is preparing for the oldest city sponsored event in city history, The Pan American games held at Mayfair Park.

NEXT LAMPPAC MEETING IS JUNE 1.2005 IN LAKEWOOD DO NOT MISS OUR GUEST SPEAKER MR. STEVE ANTHONY OF SEMPRA UTILITIES.
