Cynthia
Duprey & Patty Romo want to remind everyone that
the next CAPPO Conference will be held in the
City of Riverside. The March CAPPO meeting will
be held at the Santa Anita Race track and the
speaker will talk about Contract Law that affects
procurement professionals. They also recommend
that you check out the new requirements for CPPB
& CPPO designations on the CAPPO or NIGP web sites.
For those who could not make it to the CAPPO conference
this year, they missed out on a spectacular event.
However, they wanted to share the attached document
on Sales & Use
Tax.
Patty
Romo wants to thank all of you who shared your
uniform bid specifications.
Mark
Monforte stated that their payroll program is
moving along. They also had 8500 solar arrays
installed on his facilities.
Margarita
Lee wanted to know if other agencies were cutting
back on P-Card usage.
Wilfred
Cochico informed us that Costco will be opening
their Lakewood store very soon.
Richard
Hogate informed us that our contract with Ken
Porter Auction expired January 11, 2009. They
submitted a new quotation which will be sent to
our members. We are contemplating going out to
bid again.
Tracy
Hamilton wanted to know which agencies have a
"bidder preference" to do business with local
vendors. Irvine is about to build a new Police
Department.
Art
Torres drove all the way from Riverside to meet
with our LAMPPAC group. He wanted to know if other
agencies noticed an increase in office supply
purchases after individual end users started using
Office Max or Staples on-line ordering.
Our
next LAMPPAC meeting will be Wednesday, March
4, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Lakewood Civic Center.
for ideas on up-coming speakers.
